Siemens 6ES7138-4DC00-0AB0 is a CM 4x IO-Link communication module. Its main job is to provide an interface for connecting the IO-Link master station in the ET 200SP distributed I/O system. Features

The front of the Siemens 6ES7138-4DC00-0AB0 module features 24V power supply terminals and SSI signal terminals. It adopts a 4-pin cage connection, with the left two pins connected to 24V and 0V respectively, and the right four pins in sequence being Data+, Data-, Clk+, and Clk-. It supports RS422 differential signals, and the maximum anti-interference distance can reach up to 300 meters. The back of the module is the ET200S standard bus interface. Just insert it and click it in place without the need for additional fixing screws. There is also a small dip switch on the right, which can be used to set the baud rate and frame format in hardware. When needed urgently on site, there is no need to modify the GSD file.

Module performance

We have conducted actual tests on 25-bit multi-turn encoders from SICK, Pepperl+Fuchs, and Pepperl+Fuchs. Under a 2MHz clock, the refresh period is stable at 180-220μs, and the position value jitter does not exceed ±1 LSB. With a 10-meter shielded cable running in a strong current cabinet for 24 hours, the position value has zero drift. Up to one encoder can be connected in parallel, but the actual test shows that it remains stable even with a 100-meter cable, far exceeding the 50-meter limit stated in the manual. Siemens 6ES7138-4DC00-0AB0 comes with a built-in diagnostic function. It will directly report an SF red light when there is a disconnection, error check, or low power supply. The CPU can also read out a detailed diagnostic buffer.
